Trails:
There’s no place like BigRock Mountain. Take in the views of farms for miles at the top of the Sunrise Quad. With cruisers like Comet, or mellow terrain on Wendell’s Way. BigRock has trails that fit your ability. While looking at the trails below, look for that special symbol, as those are Keegan’s favorite trails and the ones he recommends.
Key: – Easy, Beginner
– More Difficult, Intermediate
– Most Difficult, Advanced
– Extremely Difficult, Experts Only
– Keegan’s Favorite Trails
Apollo Area:
The Apollo Area is where the beginner trails and terrain park are located. Serviced by the Apollo Triple and the Space Shuttle Carpet.
The trails serviced from this chair include:
Trail descriptions are ordered from skiers right to skiers left. To view a high-resolution 2025-26 BigRock trail map, click here.
Wendell’s Way – This gentle green trail is accessed by taking a left after unloading the Apollo Triple.
Meteor – After getting off the triple, take Wendell’s Way to Meteor, and you’re back on Uncle Bud’s
Space Walk – For those who are learning for the first time, Space Walk has its own carpet, Space Shuttle Carpet, on the right side of the trail, looking towards the Apollo Triple.
Re-Entry – Located directly off the Apollo Triple, Re-Entry gets skiers onto Outer Orbit.
Outer Orbit – Where BigRock’s Terrain Park is located, Outer Orbit brings skiers to the other side of the Apollo Triple. Getting back to the Sunrise Quad is a little hike from here, but not bad.

Sunrise Area:
The Sunrise Area makes up the remainder of BigRock Mountain. Serviced by the Sunrise Quad, you can find blue cruisers and black diamond technical stuff. Fun fact, when the Sunrise Quad is spinning, the windmill to the right of it can’t operate since the blades could throw snow and ice.

Elbow – The furthest trail to skier’s right, Elbow gets you to Family Trail and widens out after Astroid joins the mix.
Upper Snake – This was a fun trail that has berms, just like a downhill mountain bike trail. From here, you can take Asteroid, Lower Snake, or pop back out onto Comet.
Asteroid – This trail started out mellow but quickly got steeper. The slightly narrow trail brings skiers over to Elbow and then Family Trail.
Lower Snake – After skiing Upper Snake, Lower Snake brings skiers back to Comet.
Family Trail Access – This fun trail brings skiers over to Family Trail or Aurora.
Family Trail – One of the widest trails on the mountain, Family Trail has something for everyone. The grooming is fantastic on this trail, allowing those who want speed to be able to go fast, while staying far away from the intermediates.
Aurora – Located off Family Trail Access, Aurora is a little shortcut to get onto Family Trail.
Waterfall – Another fun trail, either accessed by going towards Plunge or off Family Trail Access. This relatively narrow trail is great for going fast.
Little Dipper – This narrow trail was fast, but carry speed since there is a dip at the end.
Plunge – This mostly mellow trail takes skiers over to the area where Waterfall, Little Dipper, and traffic from Family Trail all mix. Use caution, as just before Waterfall, it gets quite steep.
Milky Way – This was a fun and fast trail right under the lower part of the former double chair’s lift line.
Comet – This wide trail is where the races happen at BigRock. The views from the top are incredible with rural Maine views for miles. The grooming here is fantastic, and Comet provides access to many trails on the skier’s right side of the mountain.
Meagan’s Way – This shortcut trail takes skiers over to either Meteor or Wendell’s Way. Note that when racing is happening on Comet, netting prevents this trail from being accessible.
Uncle Bud’s – Straight down the Sunrise Quad’s lift line, Uncle Bud’s has lots of fresh stuff on skier’s left.
Galaxy – Just like Upper Snake, Galaxy has big berms and turns after getting into it. Carry speed at the end of the trail, as Galaxy can take you all the way over to Comet or Family Trail Access.
Daz’s Way – Accessed from Uncle Bud’s Daz’s Way brings skiers over to Chair Trail, and joins in just before Don’t Panic.
Chair Trail – Geez, this trail is steep! The narrow, classic New England feel to this trail makes for a fun, but fast run.
Hooch – Another steep and narrow trail, Hooch brings skiers over to Orion to access the Apollo Triple area, or by taking Don’t Panic to get back on the Sunrise side.
Orion – This trail goes out and around, before connecting back with Outer Orbit in the Apollo Triple area.
Don’t Panic – Accessed off Hooch, take this steep connector trail to get onto Chair Trail.
