    Last Chair:

As long as we gained more than we lost, I could keep doing this cycle! This past storm brought some crazy winds, but more importantly, over 18 inches of snow! If you were lucky enough to go to a mountain that wasn’t on wind hold, you know the snow was wet and dense – good base building material. This storm put the ski areas in better shape coming up on their spring parties.

    Weather:

All that new snow we got, and are still getting, is perfect for some late-season base building. This means we’ll be skiing even later into the spring. If you’re planning on getting out this weekend, keep tabs on the mountain lift status page, linked below.

21… That’s how many inches of snow we got from the last storm on Friday to Saturday. That made for some extremely special laps almost everywhere on the mountain. Sadly, though, mostly all week, we saw rain, rain, and more rain. While this didn’t necessarily hurt the mountains, it didn’t help.

    Weather:

After the rain, we just need a break filled with good weather. Thankfully, this weekend is looking prime for that. What a discouraging week for Maine ski areas. Both Big Moose Mountain and Camden Snow Bowl have closed. All week, we saw rain and temps in the mid 40’s. March should be the snowiest month of the year but for some reason we’ve been hit with horrible conditions all season.

We started the week off great; however, Mother Nature had other plans for us. Sadly, we ended the week with rain and strong winds, which closed some ski areas and seriously affected others. Pray for snow, Mainely Skiers – we need it!

    Weather:

After the rain and intense wind this week, the ski areas are still recovering. Sadly, it’s not getting any better. We’re looking at ra*n on Saturday, and those warm temps will carry over into Sunday, making for difficult grooming conditions. Today or later in the day on Sunday, would be the better times to go skiing this weekend. Now more than ever, we need snow dances! For the current lift status, click the link below.

The temps are looking more like winter as we kick off February vacation. Don’t let the cloudy skies wreck your fun, bring the low-light goggles and some layers for warmth. What a great week to be a skier in Maine. On Tuesday, Mother Nature gifted us with over 10” of fresh, light snow. Resorts doubled or even tripled their trail counts, due to the scale. With this weekend remaining cold, that snow isn’t going anywhere. Tips up!

    Weather:

With the cold front that has moved into Maine sticking around for another couple of days, the snow we got on Tuesday is still doing great and the conditons are amazing. Plus, we’re currently eyeing a couple storms coming next week with some snow. Keep doing those snow dances! For current lift status, click the link below.

What a weird storm. While most of Maine saw snow, which quickly turned to rain and melted away, the ski mountains saw mostly snow. Those snow totals were upwards of 12+”. With another storm on the way, we could be gearing up for a great January!

We’re keeping a watchful eye on Saturday’s storm and praying that it stays snow. Those totals are insane, and we hope it works out! Keep doing those snow dances, Mainely Skiers! For current lift status, click the link below.
