East Coast Pond Skimming Championship:
On Saturday, April 19, Sugarloaf will get splashy! Join Sugarloafers for the East Coast Pond Skim Championships. It’s one of the highlights of spring skiing & riding at Sugarloaf. Whether you are a participant or spectator, you won’t want to miss out on the fun. Learn more below.

Two Maine Trails Made Top Funniest Runs:
Two trails from Maine mountains have earned the title of ‘Top 18 Funniest Ski Run Names’ according to Powder Magazine. The trails had some competition as they included runs like Awe Chute at Winter Park CO, and Organgrinder at Sugarbush VT. The two from the Pine Tree State are Gnarnia at Sunday River and Misery Whip at Sugarloaf. See the full list by clicking the link below.

The Great Tailgate at Sunday River:
The Great Tailgate will be on Saturday, April 19 in the Barker Parking lot. This year’s theme is Music Genres! Please note that this event is happening rain or shine so make sure to watch the weather and bring some wet-weather clothing.

Sugarloaf Pass Holder BBQ:
Calling all Sugarloaf Passholders! Celebrate the season with food on the mountain at this year’s Pass Holder BBQ. The event is on Sunday, April 20 and you need to display your season pass before entering the buffet line. Food will be served from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.

Saddleback Closing Weekend:
Saddleback is closing for the season on Sunday, April 20. See the resorts that are still open by clicking over to our Resort Status page.

Easter Activities at Saddleback:
Saddleback will be celebrating Easter all over the mountain. The ski area will be doing an Easter Service at the top of the Rangeley Quad, followed by brunch at The Nest at 9:30am. An Easter Egg hunt will happen for the kiddos based on the following times. For 7 and under, 11am, 8 and older will be at 1pm. Saddleback will also once again be doing the golden egg which could be placed all over the mountain. Keep an eye out for that as if you find it, you will get a free season pass for next year. Sugarloaf Golf Course:
The course recently started taking tee times for the 2025 season. With a target opening day of May 23, don’t miss the incredible early-season deals and savings! See the deals below.

Hike Park Sesh at Sugarloaf:
The Sugarloaf Parks Crew will be hosting a hike park session on the 20th for free. See the order of events and sign up by clicking the link below.

Sugarloaf Blood Drive:
On Tuesday, April 22, please consider participating in Sugarloaf’s blood drive. The American Red Cross will be at the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel from 12pm – 5pm. To donate, please see the link below.

Sunday River Golf Course recently started taking tee times for the upcoming golf season. Explore the course and book your next gorgeous, yet challenging round below.

LVCP Duck Derby:
The LVCP Duck Derby is happening on April 26th at Lost Valley. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 5 fastest ducks. See the schedule of events below.

Sugarloaf Marathon:
The Sugarloaf Marathon, a Boston Marathon qualifier, draws global runners to scenic Western Maine. Taking place on Sunday, May 11, and certified by USATF, it’s one of the nation’s fastest courses, with a 1,500-runner limit. Learn more below.

After 50 years of service, the two T-bars have reached the end of their journey. T-Bar 2 has been condemned and urgently needs replacement before next season. Last Chair:
For those who skied in the great 207 on Tuesday, you know your day was quickly changed. The two resorts still open for mid-week skiing saw afternoon lightning storms, which closed both Sunday River and Sugarloaf. The Loaf actually saw some problems related to the lighting, as King Pine is still closed. See the full weather report below and make sure to keep an eye on our Resort Status page as only three resorts are left!

Saddleback’s closing weekend is looking a little shaky right now. We’re expecting light rain on Saturday morning, followed by strong winds on Sunday. Keep tabs on the Mountain Lift Status page as the winds could affect lift operations.
