    2021/22 Ski Season:

    What a great season everyone! As the season is coming to an end around the various Maine resorts, I can’t help but notice how great this season was. Despite the not-so-pleasant weather, many resorts were able to push through the ra*n and give us a great winter experience. Thank you to everyone who has a part in mountain operations!

    Spring Bash Weekend:

    Welcome to Spring Bash, Saddleback’s big spring party. Saddleback & New Belgium Brewing brings you a weekend-long celebration to kick off spring at your favorite mountain. Saturday, April 9th is the big day!

    Reggae Fest:

    Join Sugarloaf and the whole community of Sugarloafers this weekend for the 34th annual Reggae Fest. There are lots of different events happening throughout the 4 days of the festival. For the entire event rundown, click the link below!

    Updated Hours:

    Just a reminder about the updated spring hours for Saddleback. The main part of it is shifting the operating hours ahead by one. See below for more information.

    Lift Operations begin at:

    • Midweek (M-F): 10 a.m.
    • Weekends (Sat & Sun): 9:30 a.m.

    Kennebago and South Branch chairs will close at 4:40pm and last chair for the Rangeley will go up the mountain at 4:50pm

    Ticket Office & Guest Services:   

    • Midweek (M-F): 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    • Weekends (Sat & Sun): 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

    The Pub at Saddleback:

    • Monday: Closed
    • Tuesday: Closed 
    • Wednesday-Sunday: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

    Projected Closing:

    As much as we love skiing, all good things must come to an end. Don’t worry though, there’s always next season to shred the powder! Below you will find the mountains projected closing dates:

    Saddleback: April 16th.

    Sugarloaf: April 24th. (Estimate)

    Sunday River: April 25th. (Estimate)

    Mud Season is upon us! Whether we want it or not, it’s right around the corner. Please drive with caution when on dirt roads as spring conditions can make travel unsafe. Also, just a reminder, if the road gets muddy and unpassable, turn around – It’s not worth destroying a road and making it worse.

    We’ve really been having some strange weather events this early in the spring. Just hoping we can ski until late April! To make sure, check with the extended forecast via the Weather Channel. Also, check out the lift status by clicking the link below!

    Ski Patrol Spaghetti Dinner:

    Don’t miss the Annual Ski Patrol Spaghetti Dinner at Saddleback! This Saturday, join us in the lodge from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. Remember, it’s all for a great cause! You might even see some retired patrollers up in The Pub. Full list of events:

    Fun In Downtown Rangeley:

    Winter Fun in Downtown Rangeley continues Saturday night from 5-7pm on Main Street, Rangeley. This event is free to everyone and is being put on by our friends at Morton and Furbish. There will be horse-drawn wagon rides, a bonfire at Haley Pond Park, free ice skating on Haley Pond, and hot cocoa. More info here

    Lollipop Race:

    Calling all kids 12 and under, Every Sunday at Saddleback, the Rangeley Alpine Ski Club will be co-hosting this event with the Saddleback Ski School. From 1-2, the gates will be open for racing followed by awards on the deck. contact the Ski School desk to sign up. The race takes place on skiers right of Royal Tiger, just below the Rangeley Chair.     Red Bull Slide-In Tour

    Don’t miss the Red Bull Slide-In Tour at Sunday River this Sunday. The Red Bull Slide-In Tour is all about celebrating snowboard culture in the East. The pros will be offering a progression clinic at Who-Ville terrain park in the morning for riders of all ages. Then, join us at T72 for a free ride session and watch the crew show off in the afternoon.     Banked Slalom

    Sugarloaf’s 11th annual Banked Slalom race will be taking place this Saturday, March 12. Featuring a course of banked-turns winding down Sugarloaf’s iconic East Coast terrain, the objective is simple: the fastest rider to the bottom wins in each division. For more information, click here

    Lollipop Race:

    Inferno

    The Inferno Race will be taking place this Sunday, March 13 at Sugarloaf. This XC ski cross event will start somewhere up on the mountain and end down at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. The course will take you downhill to the Condo X-Cut that connects with the traditional Inferno race trail leading to the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center. Learn more here
