Lift Troubles For The Loaf:

The SuperQuad at Sugarloaf has been down for the past two days now. While there hasn’t been any word as to what the issue is, they did share that the part has been ordered and should be installed today. The lift should be open again for Saturday. I know snow dances are a thing but maybe do your lift dance?

Last Chair:

A Christmas miracle, as some called it. On Christmas Eve the mountains saw snow… up to 8 inches to be more precise. The new snow brought higher trail counts, higher stoke, and higher crowds (keep in mind that’s the point of this week). All resorts are now open. Check out the Resort Status page!

Weather:

While we were loving our new snow and great snowmaking weather, the Grinch has teamed up with Mother Nature to throw some rain our way. We’re looking at temps in the 40’s and up to an inch of rain throughout Sunday and Monday. The good news is that we’re currently eyeing some snow in the forecast for the end of the week, which could bring anywhere from 4-8 inches. While we hope it’s the latter, any snow will be better than the dreaded thawed snow.

Check in with the Mountain Lift Status page as the incoming weather can affect lift operations. Keep an eye out for windholds

Not all mountains are open in Mine yet; Spruce Mountain, Baker Mountain, Powderhouse Hill, Pinnacle, & Quoggy Jo are not yet open.

That’s a great point. I wasn’t trying to exclude these mountains, just talking about the ones that we track on a daily basis (all listed on the Resort Status page). There are many “small” mountains that offer a great family experience that are yet to open. Fingers crossed we get a good storm that will allow every mountain to open!
